On 18 September 2015 at berth 22 of the Antwerp Docks(Kattendijkdok), the swimming pool pontoon of the “Badboot” sunk completely after collapsing. Dimensions of the Badboot: length of 120 meter and deadweight of 2839 ton. The Kattendijkdok area was limited accessible for heavy lifting equipment.

Works Description:

On 18 September 2015 at berth 22 of the Antwerp Docks(Kattendijkdok), the swimming pool pontoon of the “Badboot” sunk completely after collapsing. Dimensions of the Badboot: length of 120 meter and deadweight of 2839 ton. The Kattendijkdok area was limited accessible for heavy lifting equipment. Based on the project plan Hebo won the Tender for the wreck removal. The Badboot was cut in 4 pieces of max. 700 ton. The pieces where lifted by floating sheerlegs on barges and transported to a scrapyard. The complete Badboot is further dismantled and disposed on the scrapyard.
